Health Care for Underserved Populations Worldwide

Mother and Baby

Ruben J. Williams Foundation (RJW) provides health care in resource constrained environments. Using a collaborative model, we bring experts together to help under-served populations. Our work includes taking part in missions to highlight areas that need the most help.

A big part of what we do is identifying those developing countries where medical inroads are needed. Since our inception, a variety of distinguished lecturers have helped us bring awareness of the problem to the worldwide health care community.

Help expand health care to the needy by contributing to our nonprofit organization.

About Us

Based in Oakland, Pennsylvania, the Ruben J. Williams Foundation is a nonprofit organization and collaboration between academic institutions in the US and in East Africa. Our purpose is improving health care. The original founders of RJW were comprised of physicians and lawyers who got together to try and figure out a way to contribute, using the expertise within the group. The foundation was created with the purposes of bringing groups together from two sides to provide health care in a manner where both sides would benefit from the interaction. People who would not necessarily have had the benefit of that type of expertise would get the health care they need. Together with local schools, we also seek to identify and sponsor academically suitable students with a professed desire to study medicine and/or pursue a career in surgery/anesthesiology.

Mission Statement

Ruben J. Williams is committed to positively impact the training of surgeons and anesthesiologists in East Africa, by facilitating a global exchange of ideas, advances, and skills in the medical field.
